Andrea (AJ) VanDyk

Andrea (AJ) VanDyke earned her Juris Doctorate at the Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2008 and was admitted to practice in Illinois the same year. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication with a minor in Political Science from the University of Illinois.

While in law school, AJ interned at the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office as well as the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office where she prosecuted felony cases, tried DUIs, and gained experience in the area of Child Protection. AJ also practiced as a student attorney for the Zeke Giorgi Elder Law Clinic where she drafted and executed wills and advised clients regarding their estate planning needs. AJ was awarded the Marla Dickerson Public Interest Award and served as the Public Interest Law Society President and Auction Chair.

After law school, AJ became an Assistant State’s Attorney for the Tazewell County State’s Attorney’s Office where she prosecuted cases at the traffic, misdemeanor and felony levels until 2012 when she moved to Colorado. She was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2013 and practiced as a Guardian Ad Litem for the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center a non-profit law center, where she represented the
best interest of her child clients in the Denver Dependency and Neglect system. AJ became a prosecutor for the Aurora City Attorney’s Office in 2015 where she tried numerous jury trials and prosecuted criminal, juvenile, traffic and animal violations.

In her free time, AJ enjoys spending time with her husband, her twins, her family and friends and loves everything Colorado has to offer.
